If you set up your yourte, step by step, it is quite easy and fast. You'll however need 3 to 4 people to set up the laryourte yourtes.

  1 Crown 1

Upper central wooden part of the yourte that support the roof of the yourte. The crown is painted with patterns. Four ropes keep the crown and the walls together. One rope pulls by mean of a heavy weight the crown downwards.

  2 Sticks 46 to 98

Sticks are linking the crown to the walls. It support the roof. Depending on the yourte size there are different quantities of sticks. We supply extra sticks in case some brake. Sticks are fixed to the walls with ropes. The sticks are painted with patterns.

  3 Walls

3 to 8

The walls are the outer supporting structure of the yourte. The nb of walls depends on the size of the yourte. Walls are hold together with ropes.

4 Door 1

Entrance of the yourte that should face to the South. Ropes will held the door and the walls together. The door is painted with patterns.

5 Support poles 2

The 2 poles are places in the centre of the yourte and support the crown. The poles are fixed to the crown by ropes. The supporting poles are painted with patterns.

  6 Floor 1

We do not supply the floor of the yourte.

  7 Upper felt 2

This is the felt covering the top part of the yourte. It isolates the yourte.

  8 Side felt 2 to 4

This is the felt covering the side part of the yourte. It isolates the yourte.

  9 Crown felt 1

This is the felt covering the crown.

  10 Belts 5

Two Belts will be used to hold the walls of the yourte. They will be placed between the walls and the felt. Three Belts will be used to stabilise the whole gar and will be applied on the outerst outside of the yourte. 

  11 Inside cover 1

The inside cover covers the walls.

  12 Rain cover 1

The rain cover lies between the outside cover and the felt.

  13 Outside cover 1

The outside cover has decorations and give the outside outlook of the yourte.

How to set up your yourte, step by step

1. Find the flat area where to set up your yourte.

2. Lay down the floor. If you build the yourte directly on the ground, draw a circle where the walls will stand.

3. Stretch the walls out and fix them together and fix the door between 2 walls. The walls (and door) should be held together by little strings.

4. Fix two other string to the door (fixed on the top side and down side of the door), turn it around the walls and fix the string at the other side of the wall. This string will prevent the walls and the door to move.

4. Attach the two supporting poles to the crown.

5. One person holds the crown - supporting pools in the middle of the yourte.

6. Some other persons put the sticks between the crown and the walls. At the side of the wall, teh sticks are fixed with little ropes so that the stick do not fall down.

7. Put also the sticks between the crown and the door. Usually those sticks have numbers.

8. Put the inside white cotton in the yourte. Fix it with a string that turn around the yourte and holds the felt in place.

9. Put top felt covers. There are 2 of them. Half of the top opening will be closed by the feld. Half of the opening will remain uncovered.

10. Cover the whole structure with the rain cover.

11. Cover the whole structure with the white cotton decoration cover.

12. Fix two (one up, one down) more belts around the yourte.

13. Put the crown cover on top of the yourte.

14. Put one or two belts that passes over the yourte. At the extremes of those belts, hang heavy weights in order to keep the yourte standing during heavy wind storms.
